Rising from a small nondescript town, Sayaji Shinde, achieved an rare feat – conquering the hearts of his billon fans with tremendous passion for acting and charming personality.

From early child Sayaji Shinde faced the challenges of life head on. Sayaji Shinde was born in "Vele Kamati", a small town 12 Km from Satara. Electricity reached this town as late as 1981. But an young and determined lad, young Sayaji Shinde gave equal importance to education and family. He managed to complete his studies in Lal Bahadur Shastri collage at Satara, while working as night watchman in irrigation department to give financial support to his families.

His passion towards acting grew, when he decided to become an actor and started doing plays during his college days. His first play was directed by Mr. Sunil Kulkarni in lok Rang munch theatre group. He continued his remarkable work in plays like Ghot Bhar Pani, Chatkor bhakri, Pavsacha Gan. For a play called “Surat Haravleli Pavle” in collage, he referred the book of Mr. K. Narayan Kale.

Initial success in the plays fanned his passion towards acting and brought this budding actor to the tinsel town of Mumbai. In Mumbai he joined acting academy “Avishkar” by Arvind & Sulbha Deshpande. Here he worked hard and polished his acting skills. Opportunities knocked his doors soon when he was offered 3 plays by Mr. Vaman Kendre. Acknowledgment followed him soon when his work in the play “Zulva” was appreciated by established personality of the industry like Mr. Jabbar Patel, Mr.P.L.Deshpande, Mr. Ashok Ranade, Mrs. Vijaya Mehta, Mr. Jaywant Dalvi & Mr. Dilip Kolahatkar.

Offers of play was followed by offers from the film world. He was offered a Marathi film “Aboli” and his work really appreciated by viewers – which gave him the prestigious Best Actor in the Marathi Filmfare Award in the year 1996. Keeping his loyality towards theaters, he joined NCPA by Mr. Ashok Rande and continued doing commercial theatres. On one hand working with Kurla Sahakari Bank for his livelihood, he kept his passion for acting by working in theatre as well. Working with Kurla Sahakari Bank proved to be crucial for career development as his subordinate and colleague supported his desire and ambition to serve the masses through his acting proficiency.

By his sheer acting skills Sayaji Shinde not only became popular Marathi film actor but also received wide acclaim and honors in Bollywood, Kollywood and Tollywood. His career in Bollywood started with a decent role in "Shool". Other Hindi movies in which Sayaji Shinde enthralled audience with his acting skills include "Bacchu Yaadav" in "Shool" which was followed by an role in "Market" and "Calcutta Mail". On the recommendation of Allu Aravind & Ashwini Dutt, while he was acting in Calcutta Mail, Shinde played the villain in "Tagore". In spite his unfamiliarity with Tamil language, he conquered the hearts of Tollywood fans by playing the role of Tamil Nadu's greatest ever poet and writer, Subramanya Bharathi. His efforts was well appreciated and he was honored by a state award. His other notewrorthy films in Tamil includes Bharathi, Santhosh Subramaniam, Poovellam Un Vaasam, Dhool.

A humble Sayaji Shinde is aware of the support and encouragements during his initial days and is very thank full to one and all who supported him during his journey in acting.
